With five of their top six players from last season returning in 2020, head coach Tina Thomas said the team will be led by senior and four-year starter Kate Bradley (5-8, Sr.) at point guard. Bradley averaged 9.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. She is a floor leader and a great shooter. Gracey Wernli (5-10, So.) is a young player with excellent three-point range. Look for her to start at shooting guard. Meredith Mayes (6-2, So.) gets the nod at power forward where she averaged 7.9 points and 6.8 rebounds a game as a freshman. Allyssa Nielsen (6-0, So.) is the inside scoring threat coach Thomas wants in the paint. Nielsen averaged 8.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists last year. Gentry Baldwin (5-6, So.) plays with great tenacity on defense and is a threat to hit the three. Baldwin accounted for 6.6 points and 2.5 assists per game. Adding senior leadership are Jyllian Mays and Parker Brown with junior Haley Prince contributing as well. Something to Watch – Bradley can handle pressure, drive to the basket, pass and knock down the three. She is a complete player and encompasses the dedication, passion, determination and teamwork this is Bixby basketball.
