Bixby High School senior Dariel Rodriguez is a standout track athlete and someone the program will miss after he leaves the halls of BHS.
Rodriguez said he is proud of what he’s accomplished with his teammates.
“I’m most proud of how my team is improving and how I’ve been pushing past my limits every day,” Rodriguez said.
Being a good teammate and being coachable are two qualities Rodriguez learned while being a student-athlete at BHS. His hope is to take those qualities with him to the next level.
Current and former teammates have continued to inspire Rodriguez.
“Luke Custer inspires me because he works hard every day and he brings good energy,” said Rodriguez. “I’m also inspired by my mom because she’s done so much for me to be where I am right now.”
Rodriguez lives his life by some advice he received while competing with the Spartans.
“To keep running your race not just in the track but in life, because if you quit you are never going to know if you win or not and you are not going to see the end,” Rodriguez said.
