The Spartans do it again
Bixby rolled past Jenks, 49-21 to win their sixth state championship in a row.
The run game for the Spartans was unstoppable as Jett Turner and Kordell Gouldsby carried the load for Bixby. Gouldsby, a VYPE Top 100 Mr. Football Oklahoma finalist racked up more than 300 yards of offense with three rushing touchdowns, one receiving touchdown and one kick return for a touchdown.
The Spartans finish the season a perfect 13-0 with back-to-back Class 6AI titles to add to the four straight titles they won in Class 6AII.
Jenks is the only team to play the Spartans close in the last two seasons, even picking up a win over Bixby last year in the regular season, but this night was all Bixby. Head coach Loren Montgomery, a former Jenks assistant coach, has led the Spartans to an historic run and is considered one of, if not the, top high school football coach in Oklahoma.
