Getting to know Bixby’s Nikole Cozort – Presented by Excel Physical Therapy

VYPE: What are your goals for this season?

Nikole: I would like to continue to get personal records and make it to state in the 200m and 100m.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Nikole: Track has definitely taught me to eat healthier and get stronger so that my body can compete at its highest level.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Nikole: Mrs. Newell was my favorite teacher. She was my 5th grade math teacher and she always made learning fun. She was a great teacher as well as a friend.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Nikole: My competitors inspire me to continue to get faster. When someone is faster than me I believe I can push myself harder and faster.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Nikole: Cayden Dawson, a long-distance runner who now runs for OSU was so focused on her sport  and it made me want to do the same in sprinting. She was a good leader for Bixby Track.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Nikole: My favorite part about being on the track team  is not only being my best for myself but to make my team proud and at the same time to be able to be proud of my team.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Nikole: If I had to pick a place to go on vacation it would be somewhere in Mexico like Cancun and it would be with my family and cousins.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Nikole: I’m passionate about my sport because I have the natural ability to succeed. By implementing good nutrition and appropriate workouts I feel as though the sky’s the limit and I have the passion to continue to grow.

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.

Nikole: First and foremost, I would like to thank God for giving me all these opportunities and I give all my light to him. I want to thank my family for providing all the tools necessary for this sport. I’m thankful for my coaches at Bixby as well as my coach Eric Hudgens at Personal Best Athletics.
