President of the Bixby Baseball Booster Club is just one of the many titles that Holly Moore holds.
“It is in my nature to take charge and to organize big groups,” Holly said. “Some call it bossy, but I prefer to term it aggressively helpful.”
Mom to twins Chloe and Cooper, both athletes at Bixby High School, she has been volunteering for the past ten years in various school activities such as soccer, football, basketball, cheer, volleyball, and more.
“I strive to lighten the coaches load, so they can focus on coaching,” Holly said. “And to add some fun to the team experience to make it memorable and enjoyable for all.”
Not only does she love to be aggressively helpful, but she truly enjoys getting to know the players and all the parents.
“So many good friends have been made helping with and being part of a team.”
For Holly there is no typical volunteer day. She does a lot of her volunteer duties from her phone. Much of her duties consist of planning future events, lots of communicating with others, making preparations for board meetings, as well as finding other volunteers to do different parts of the baseball program.
Not only does Holly keep herself busy with volunteering, but she also works for the Grand River Dam Authority for the past 22 years as the Director of Properties and Maintenance.
Holly got married to her husband, Rocky, after college, then they had their twins in Tulsa and shortly moved to Miami. Before her twins reached the first grade they moved to Bixby where her and the kids have remained Spartans ever since.
