VYPE: What are your personal goals this year and how is the season going?
Kaylynn: My personal goal this year is to grow physically and mentally as a player, teammate and learn as much as I can from the current seniors and our coaches. We have lost three games so far, two of which I was out with a concussion, was a big bummer for me but the year is not over yet. My high school ball goal is to make it to the playoffs again and to win State. And Club wise, I’ve been very lucky to be on Sheffield 05 Kolman for the past 10 years playing in the NPL league. But my goal now is to move to ECNL to help push myself to the next level.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
Kaylynn: The most fun I’ve had in the last year has definitely been the high school bus rides. You get so close to people from being with them for hours on end and the epic rap battles after every win.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Kaylynn: My favorite teacher was Mrs. King from fourth grade. She took care of me when my mom was in the hospital. She always kept me in a good mindset.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Kaylynn: My favorite athletic memory has to be the trip to Alabama for the high school showcase. Staying with different people for almost a week changes you. You never realize how good it feels to get closer to people that you weren’t closer with in the beginning.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Kaylynn: Andra Mohler has left the biggest impression on me. She never lets our team feel down after a loss. She always has the right words that lifts all of us up. And Sam Mendez from last year. She really taught you life lessons that would help you for a lifetime.
VYPE: Who on your team has the best impression of your coach and who says the funniest things during games?
Kaylynn: Ella Hall says the funniest things. No matter the situation she always knows what to say.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Kaylynn: If I could go anywhere for a summer vacation, I would go to Paris, France. I would bring my best friend, Addison Coble, who I’ve known my entire life since I started playing soccer.
VYPE: If we gave you 500 dollars and had to spend it in the next 24 hours, how would you spend it?
Kaylynn: If I had 500 dollars, I would spend it on tons of clothes and shoes, buying myself a whole new wardrobe.
VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.
Kaylynn: I would like to Thank my current club coach, Brett Kolman. He has coached me for over 10 years, helping develop me into the player I am today. He has always pushed me, believed in me and always there for me on and off the field. He has been the best coach and I will miss him. Thank you to my current high school coaches, as well. I also would like to thank my family that haven’t missed a game.
