VYPE Top 100 selectee and junior center for the Lady Spartans, Meredith Mayes, paused from her busy schedule to answer three questions about her team, school and who plays a big role in her life. Mayes has verbally committed to play basketball for Abilene Christian University in 2024.
VYPE: Meredith, what do you love most about your team and teammates at Bixby?
Mayes: What I like about my teammates is my relationship with them on and off the court, and the energy they bring to practice.
VYPE: What is your favorite subject in school, and do you have a favorite teacher?
Mayes: My favorite subject in school is math, I’ve always liked and enjoyed math. My favorite teacher is my anatomy and physiology teacher, Mr. Hunter, because he is a good teacher, makes the class interesting, and is a funny person.
VYPE: Who has been a big influence in your life, on or off the court?
Mayes: My biggest influences are my parents because they are both great leaders who I look up to spiritually, and they push me to excel.
