Bixby High School senior Levi Dunsmore is a starting offensive lineman for the Spartans and one of the reasons this team is the early season favorite to bring home another gold ball. Dunsmore and his teammates are focused and ready for the season.
“Our expectations this season are to grow as a team and win another state championship,” said Dunsmore.
Dunsmore said there are many things about this team and his teammates that he loves. From the work they put in together to the battles they share on the field, being a Spartan is a special experience for Dunsmore.
“One of the things I love most is the bond that we’ve created throughout the year,” said Dunsmore.
Spring ball and summer workouts have gone well for Dunsmore.
“The best thing about spring ball was no surprises, but there is hard work we put in year-round,” Dunsmore.
Dunsmore and many of his teammates would love the shot at competing with 6AI teams or possibly playing the 6AI champion for a unified 6A title.
“I believe my team can face any difficult challenges that are thrown at us,” said Dunsmore. “It doesn’t matter where or who we play I always look forward to the opportunities we get to play the game.”
The Spartans will get a chance to test themselves early in the season as they host Mansfield, Texas, and travel to Jenks.
In the classroom, Dunsmore said his favorite subject involves anything science related, and he plans on going to the University of Tulsa but is undecided on a major.
Away from school and the team, Dunsmore said he enjoys getting in extra workouts and doing activities outdoors.
