Bixby’s Gianna Incremona – Soccer Spotlight – Presented by Nick Morgans, Shelter Insurance

Bixby’s Gianna Incremona

For Bixby High School’s Gianna Incremona, the game starts long before the whistle, in the mindset she has built through years of facing down challenges and big moments on the pitch. The Spartans’ outside forward has already tasted the highest level of success, and it has only sharpened her hunger for more.

Incremona calls winning a national championship and being named the tournament’s most valuable player the accomplishment she is most proud of, a milestone that reflects both her individual impact and her team-first mentality. That experience, she said, reinforced lessons her sport has been teaching her since she first laced up her cleats.

“Soccer has taught me how to face adversity head on,” Incremona said. “There’s always going to be ups and downs, but what matters is the way you handle it.”

Her journey has been shaped by coaches and mentors who saw her potential early. She points to her former club coach, Rob Johnson, as a major influence. “He always saw a spark in me ever since I was fairly young, and he would push me to my best because he knew what I was capable of,” she said.

At Bixby, Incremona is equally inspired by those around her every day. She credits teammate Addie Guthrie for leaving the biggest impression on her because of how relentlessly Guthrie works to chase her dreams. In the classroom, her favorite teacher, Ms. Rangel, stands out for always being there for her and genuinely caring about what was going on in her life.

Incremona said her favorite part of representing Bixby is being part of the community and helping grow the future of Bixby women’s soccer. The best advice she carries into every match is simple: try your best and leave it all on the field. She also models her work ethic after Michael Jordan, admiring his drive to always push himself further.

Above all, she is grounded by gratitude. Incremona gives a heartfelt shoutout to her family for supporting every decision she makes and loving her for who she is, and she credits the Lord for the blessings in her life. Those roots, paired with her championship pedigree, continue to fuel one of Bixby’s most dynamic attacking threats.
