Bixby’s Gage Knight
Bixby High School senior Gage Knight has played basketball his whole life. It’s something that has been a constant over the years.
“I’ve always watched sports growing up and my older brother played as well,” he said.
Over those years, he has made many memories with the various teams he’s played on. He says that the best part isn’t just the wins or numbers on the scoreboard, it’s the friends you create on each team.
“They are more than teammates, we have to be close on and off the court,” he said of his fellow Spartans.
Knight is motivated in part by his desire to be his best for those around him and not let them down. As point guard, Knight is tasked with leading the team. Spartan basketball head coach Lance Kight can vouch for Knight’s character as an “incredible leader of our team on and off the court” who makes his teammates better every day.
Knight says that his father is someone who pushes him to be his best.
“He has always been there for me and created time to be at important events,” he said.Knight isn’t sure of his plans after graduation yet but says that he plans to continue his education in college.
